Greetings...Frank and Judy Hess have done some quick work on the 2012 Wright-Patterson Reunion and have put the following together. It is early in the game so some details are not known and/or some events might change. Next spring we will get a letter out with the final schedule.
Time: Wednesday 9/26 thru Sunday 9/30.
Location: Hotel Hope at Area A WPAFB (937-879-2694)..$85/night w/breakfast buffet or $75 without the breakfast buffet.
Tentative schedule:
Wednesday...Check in and dinner on your own. Hospitalitay Room open.
Thursday...8AM Guided Tour of a B-26 (Marauder...we will work on getting that changed to an Invader) then tour the Museum on your own and dinner on your own.
Friday...Bus Tour of Wright-Patterson with lunch at the Club. Dinner plans TBD.
Saturday...Afternoon Association Meeting. Group dinner at the hotel. It looks like their are a number of options for a band and speaker at no cost that are being considered.

The 20th Reunion of the 90th Association was held in Panama City Beach, FL the week of September 18th. Eighteen members were present with a total of thirty-eight attendees. Jimie Knight organized the entire event and all agreed that it was well done. Registration was Wednesday the 21st with Open Days on Thursday and half of Saturday. We were right on the beach and many walked or went swimming. Friday was a full day beginning with a tour of Tyndall. The USAF was a gracious host and we were shown an F22 Raptor, F4 Drones and had a briefing by the F22 Squadron Commander. We also had a tour of their most impressive NCO Academy followed by lunch at a base club. Friday evening we bussed to a dinner cruise on the bay winding up a great day at about 10:30. Saturday evening we had a hosted barbeque dinner.
An informal Business Meeting was held on Saturday afternoon. The following items were discussed:
Website: We need to find a new manager for the site. If that does not happen we will shut it down. An individual has come forward to look into what is required and I will keep the status on this posted.
Association Financial Status: The current balance is ~$3K which is the same as last year. We anticipate that this Reunion will be essentially break-even although we will underwrite some expenses. The November bank statement will reflect our status. We haven’t collected dues for years but we do occasionally receive donations. George Pittelkau has been a generous contributor.
20th Reunion Mugs were distributed on Saturday. Extras are available at $5 each. Unfortunately shipping costs are ~$10 so they have to be added. Jimie Knight has whatever inventory is available.
2012 Reunion: Last year we discussed the possibility of having an unstructured reunion at Wright-Patterson /Dayton, OH and tour the AF Museum there on our own. Frank and Judy Hess volunteered to look into what might be available and made a report. A show of hands indicated that a majority of those would be interested and a date in early October was proposed. The plan is to put something together and present it to the members next Spring. If you have suggestions, forward them to the Hesses.
Jimie Knight presented plaques to the Longs and Barb Zust (for Wally) in recognition for their work in the 90th Association.
A proposal was made to add a third signer on the Association checking account. George Baisley volunteered.
Request for current e-mail addresses was made.
Emmett Smith raffled off four of the wall hangings he had from the Shreveport Reunion. Emmett also donated and distributed some 90th pens he had made.
The meeting was closed.
Jimie Knight put a lot of effort into making this Reunion happen and he did a really fine job. Thanks again Jimie.
